Our Client based in Gloucestershire is looking for a Commissioning Officer to join their team on a temporary basis, initially for 6 months with the possibility to extend to 12 months. We are looking for a candidate who will be able to support the Lead Commissioners and Outcome Managers, achieving the expected and desired outcomes in given areas through effective commissioning activities. The ideal candidate will be required to lead and undertake more complex and higher risk projects and lead on lower risk commissioning exercises. Previous experience in local authority would be desirable as they ideally need someone who can hit the ground running.
Within this role we are looking for someone that can provide advice, evidence, and research, which can support commissioning decisions, including analysis of the market development trends. You must be able to support the customer engagement process, undertake contract monitoring and provide support for procurement and commissioning exercises. The ability to keep up to date with relevant policies, best practice, and legislative changes, is essential.
We are looking for someone that has experience working in a commissioning environment as a commissioner or provider, has experience of working procurement, with proven experience of interpreting and presenting research and customer views in light of legislative and policy requirements. You must be able to build and maintain productive relationships, including those with stakeholders and partners. Previous involvement and support in a range of projects including planning and reporting, including working on sensitive projects is a prerequisite.
This role is to start immediately and will be based in Gloucester, so please only apply if you are happy to travel to Gloucester every day.
